A duet between Sam Smith and Chaka Khan is forecasted to happen anytime soon. Smith is one of the few singing sensations from the United Kingdom since Adele. The legendary Chaka Khan is heard to have agreed to work together with Smith and do a duet soon.
In an interview with V Magazine, Smith and Khan talked about their mutual love and admiration for each other.
Khan disclosed that they are definitely going to write a song together to which Smith agreed. He was also considering adding Mary J. Blige to the plan as they have already worked together in the past.
The "Stay With Me" singer, the new sound of soul, has had a remarkable year with his debut project "The Lonely Hour." It reaped six Grammy nominations which include the best new artist award and album of the year.
Smith confessed in the interview that his mother is a Chaka Khan fan, and she wished to see him singing with Chaka Khan as she turn 50's. He rang her and told her the news, to quote his mother saying after hearing the news, "I can't believe you."
Smith also expressed his dismay and that he was not a bit impressed with the present-day pop stars. He note them as awful. No name was dropped but he voiced out his opinion to Chaka. These pop stars have not even got half of her success yet they act less than the kind and humble diva.
She replied: "Well, it's people skills. Talking to a screen all day long takes the human experience out. Luckily I grew up in a time when we only had a telephone at home."
