The actual release date of Google's latest software Android 6.0 Marshmallow to Xiaomi Mi 4 and Mi Note is still pending. The update is likely to launch is a few weeks, but it will not bring much change to the MIUI. Mi 4 and Mi Note will be among the first devices from Xiaomi to receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
According to The Waltonian, Xiaomi operations manager has confirmed the update rollout but he has not provided the specific date.
The Xiaomi Mi 4 and Mi Note smartphones recently received Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update. The developer company Xiaomi said that the two gadgets will be updated to Marshmallow as a way of the company's dedication to satisfy their clients.
The Android 6.0 Marshmallow rollout for Mi 4 and Mi Note will commence in a few weeks, according to International Business Times. However, the update will not bring any major changes to the devices since the user interface will remain as MIUI 7.
There will be some changes in stock Android. Reports indicate that the MIUI 7 offers 30 percent faster system response and 10 percent more battery life.
It is reported that Xiaomi entered a partnership with Microsoft to develop Windows 10 Mobile ROM for its Xiaomi Mi 4. The Windows 10-based firmware was meant for the Mi 4's LTE variant and it was available from Dec. 3.
Currently, Xiaomi Mi 4 and Mi Note run on Android 4.4 KitKat. However, reports indicate that the Chinese mobile developer company will stop development work on KitKat-based ROMs from next week. As soon as the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA update hits the two devices, users can install and have a taste of new features.
The company is also working on Xiaomi Mi 5 smartphone, which is believed to launch in the first quarter of 2016.
