There have always been exciting rumors on iPhones, and the recent one on the iPhone 7 is no exception, except that it is not that exciting.
While Apple is gearing up for the release of iPhone 7 next September, rumors claim that the new upcoming Apple smartphone will not sport the headphone port, instead, users will have to use the Lightning Port or Bluetooth.
Reports from 9To5Mac, which, till date has accurately predicted on upcoming devices from Apple, confirm the rumor on the headphone port issue. The reason, as cited by this reliable source, is that Apple wants to make this phone the slimmest ever, and that is why the port is being removed to accommodate 1 mm less thickness. According to Forbes, Apple was contemplating this change one and a half year ago.
Reports further revealed that Apple was working on the iPhone 7 to sport earpods that are being designed for lightning connectors, which will have buit-in converters for converting from digital to analog. With this upcoming change, Apple confirms that it has plans to design their upcoming devices to be cordless, same case with MacBook that was recently released.
Although it is just a rumor, hopes are still alive that Apple will stay put with the headphone port and not move on with plans to make the iPhone 7 thinner than the iPhone 6. On the other hand, predictions are swirling the net that the iPhone 7 will have more changes in design, besides the headphone port being removed.
