Speculations regarding fourth-year power forward Terrence Jones is abuzz at the moment as several clubs are rumored to be interested in trading for the youthful big man. One of these teams could be the Indiana Pacers, who are reportedly looking to add more depth in their roster up front.
The 23-year-old Jones is considered as one of the most versatile young frontcourt men in the NBA today and teams in need of reliable support in the shaded area would definitely want to take a close look at him as the December trading period comes soon.
Fansided noted that the former Kentucky standout "is coming into his own as a versatile contributor in his fourth season in the Association" and that "multiple teams have expressed interest in acquiring Jones' services".
Although there are no indications that the Rockets are actually willing to trade their prized young player, Houston may have to gamble sooner or later if they want to get out of their current funk and really become the title contenders that they should be.
One of the suggested destination for Jones is the Indiana Pacers, who are currently second in the Eastern Conference with a 12-7 record behind Cleveland and thriving with the great start of All-Star Paul George to the season.
One may think that Frank Vogel's squad does not need any upgrades, but looking closely, their frontcourt badly needs improvement if they want to dislodge the Cavs on top, especially now that George is proven more effective playing back to his comfortable small forward position.
NBC Sports' Pro Basketball Talk recently reported that Indiana is looking to trade small forward Solomon Hill and he could be the trade piece needed to persuade Houston to a deal.
The ESPN Trade Checker approved a package that includes rookie point guard Joe Young, but it is highly likely that the Rockets will demand more if negotiations would actually happen.
