Former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee is not pulling any punches in his book "Gods, Guns, Grits and Gravy," where he called out some of the most popular artists in the music industry, such as Beyonce, Jay-Z, Rihanna and Miley Cyrus, Nat Monitor reported.
The book is coming out later this month and reports have it that the politician's work contains his thoughts on pop culture. However, his opinions may not please music fans, especially if he's calling Jay-Z as Beyoncé's pimp, Miley Cyrus a stripper and criticizing Rihanna's fashion choices.
Huckabee wrote about hiphop couple Beyoncé and Jay-Z, complimenting the "incredibly talented" Mrs. Carter and her "exceptional set of pipes." He didn't seem to appreciate their "Drunk in Love" at the 2014 Grammy Awards though. He wrote that Beyoncé's moves were "best left for the privacy of her bedroom," and called Jay-Z "a very shrewd businessman" for allegedly pimping out his wife and exploiting her akin to a sex object.
Also, Huckabee called out Cyrus on her controversial 2013 MTV Video Music Awards performance. He called it "disgustingly pornographic," implied that she lacked talent and said her moves were "better saved for a stripper pole." He also slammed Rihanna for her red carpet looks, saying there were "dusty pickup truck windshields" that were less transparent.
The First Family of the United States was not spared as well, when he criticized President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama for being fans and friends of Beyoncé and Jay-Z, according to People.
The First Lady told the publication in December 2014 that her daughters, Sasha and Malia, were fans of Beyoncé, which Huckabee apparently found appalling.
"With the First Lady so concerned about making sure her daughters' bellies don't ingest unhealthy food, how can she let their brains ingest obnoxious and toxic mental poison in the form of song lyrics?" Huckabee wrote.
Reports have it that Huckabee's controversial claims have something to do with drumming interest and support for his possible presidential run in 2016, though Huckabee has yet to formally confirm it. He reportedly stated that he was not ruling out running for president, telling people to stay tuned.
