With the original cast of "Naruto" growing up with age, the new generation - the sons and daughters - of the Hidden Village of Leaf becomes the prime focus of Masashi Kishimoto.
The new generation is also being well-hyped prior to their debut, as it was stated that "a common air of interest among the fans is seen as the countdown began for the debut of next generation Naruto."
It is still unclear whether the upcoming New Generation "Naruto" would be featured into a full movie or end up as a weekly series, although in the latest comic release of the series, a brief lineation of these characters was seen.
It is quite possible that a new movie of "Naruto" would feature post the "Naruto: The Seventh Hokage and Scarlet Spring," which presented the new generation in action. The new generation is expected to be spear-headed by Boruto, Naruto and Hinata's son.
According to Design and Trend, Kishimoto might create more than just a Boruto spin-of. The publication added that there may not be any series but chances and possibilities are very much alive.
Kishimoto also stated that "Boruto: Naruto the Movie" was his gift to his fans, and he has put his heart and soul into the making of this movie.
With the end of "Naruto" series last year, fans have been left heartbroken. Manga adaptations, video games and movies released have made it possible to have a long following after the last chapter.
