Lately, Microsoft rolled out the Lumia 950 XL and 950 with the hope of sweeping up the market, though, the handsets came alongside a couple of Wi-Fi connectivity problems.
According to Techtimes, users have started getting Microsoft's attention to address the issue. Apparently, a reboot is the fix but it is not a lasting solution.
User BFuentes wrote, "MY Lumia 950 will not keep Wifi signals. It keeps on dropping the wifi connection, and I have to restart the phone for it to reacquire. In case I try just manually to connect to the Wi-Fi, it will keep on searching and not find anything."
The user added that upon returning to the Wi-Fi signal area, the phone requires another reboot as it usually does not reconnect.
Microsoft has gotten more or less associated with unstable Wi-Fi connectivity. The issue started when the Surface Pro was released and continued to the Surface 2. The Surface Pro 3 which was expected to be free of the issue has seen few consumers reporting the same problem. So far, the Surface Book and Surface Pro 4 have not shown signs of the Wi-Fi problems.
When Bluetooth is activated, some users while trying to isolate the problem have found out that the Wi-Fi connection is lost. The issue could be related to how the operating system handles the used drivers and the network, Tekno Hopper reported.
An engineer from Microsoft responded to BFuentes and suggested a soft reset as the solution. However, that obviously is not the case.
For the time being, Lumia 950 XL and 950 users will have to withstand the frequent restarts for Wi-Fi connectivity.
The company might provide a fix in the next update as it has probably received reports about this issue.
