As years passed by, product producers and manufacturers are finding ways to make their consumers' life easier while they are gaining more profit. Since 2015 rolled in, numerous plug-in hybrid cars were teased including General Motors Co. first plug-in hybrid car that supports CarPlay and MirrorLink - the 2016 Chevrolet Volt. As Mac Rumors reported, the 2016 Volt was just recently unveiled during Detroit's North American International Auto Show wherein GM finally integrated CarPlay on its next-generation hybrid car after their partnership announcement in early 2014.
Some cars that were introduced at CES 2015 and in IAS have integrated CarPlay and Android Auto; however, the latter is not really equipped to work with the 2016 Volt model. The Verge reported that it will not take that long for GM to add Android Auto on its entertainment systems as they still have plenty of time to work on its integration. The 2016 Volt is said to hit the road not until second half of 2015, just enough time to add a little spice on its features.
The 2016 Volt is a plug-in hybrid type of car, a type of vehicle that uses rechargeable batteries that is aimed to reduce air pollution and reliance to petroleum, an opposite of the conventional petroleum-fueled ones.
It is said that the new Volt is equipped with better features compared to its predecessor - it has an improve acceleration, it provides a better way of driving and features better electric charge that can run at 50 mph on a single charge.
Since it is a PHV or a PHEV, expect that this next-gen car is a bit pricey. Along with unveiling 2016 Volt, GM also unveiled its new concept - the Chevrolet Bolt EV that will run 200 mph - which is expected to be made available in the market by 2017 with a value price of around $30,000.
