Australian fans of "America's Next Top Model" cycle 22 winner Nyle DiMarco will get the chance to meet the deaf actor and model at the Move Store in Macquarie Centre in Sydney on Dec. 16, Wednesday.
On Dec. 14, Monday, DiMarco took to Facebook to share a photo of himself while at Sydney Opera House. He captioned it, "Here I am in Sydney, Australia! #OperaHouse."
DiMarco did not mention if his visit in Australia has something to do with his recent collaboration with The ASL App, which facilitates learning American Sign Language. He recently told Entertainment Tonight, "We just did 150,000 download so I'm very proud of that app."
After winning "ANTM" cycle 22, DiMarco told Out that he did not think he would ever be able to describe how he felt about being the first deaf contestant ever to not only be on the modeling competition show created by Tyra Banks but also to win it.
"This title means so much to me," DiMarco told the publication. "I used my time on the show as an opportunity to educate the world on deaf culture and what being deaf is truly all about."
According to DiMarco, he felt like he had made a huge difference because he could see the world reacting to his presence on "ANTM" cycle 22 in such a positive way. For him, winning the competition is "just another example that shows that deaf people can do anything."
As the "ANTM" cycle 22 winner, DiMarco defeated Mame Adjei, Mikey Heverley and Lacey Rogers, among others.
