Senator John McCain has returned to the set of "Parks and Recreations," E! News reported.
The senator will have a scene on the series' seventh season's first episode. McCain also appeared on the show's promotional video.
McCain's first appearance was with Amy Poehler's character Leslie Knope. Leslie was fixing her coat in a closet and having a monologue when McCain interrupted.
McCain was not the only political figure to ever appear on the show. In the same episode, Senators Olympia Snowe and Barbara Boxer also had their share of screen time.
Vice president Joe Biden also appeared on the show in a scene with Leslie and Ben Wyatt, played by Adam Scott. First lady Michelle Obama also had an involvement during the season six finale playing herself.
It has been a long run for the show. Season 7 is the final season for "Parks and Recreation." However, this is bound to be the most exciting season, according to USA Today.
The fans will be brought back to the simple town of Pawnee, Ind., where they will join Leslie in her journey which will last for 13 episodes, to be aired back-to-back every week. The one hour finale will be shown on Feb. 24.
In season six, Leslie and her friends are living in the future year of 2017. The future looks good for Leslie and her then partner Ben. That year, they already have triplets and Leslie is already running the entire National Parks Service in Pawnee.
Wyatt shared the crew's unique experience with special-effects while shooting the final season. "It's funny, like 'Parks and Rec' now has a very necessary and real special-effects department."
Poehler concluded that she is very proud of the show.
"Our show had a lot of heart, but at the end of the day, it was just aout characters and jokes. So I'm proud that we continue to do that," said the show's leading star.
"Parks and Recreation" airs every Tuesday at 8 p.m. EST on NBC.
