Reeling team Southampton FC (5-5-6, 21 points) will try to snap their four-game winless skid as they face Tottenham Hotspur FC (6-2-8, 26 points), who had just broken their 14-game winning run, at the St. Mary's Stadium on December 19th, Saturday for a 2015-2016 Premier League matchup.
Southampton was defeated by contending team Crystal Palace, 1-0, last Saturday at the Selhurst Park as they finished their fourth consecutive game without a victory, as reported by SkySports.
Eagles midfielder Yohan Cabaye netted the lone goal of the match at the 38th minute while Ronald Koeman's men remained scoreless all throughout, unable to match their opponents and surrender the three points to Palace.
The Saints have now lost three of their last four games to settle at the 12th spot in the league table.
Meanwhile, Tottenham lost for only the second time this season since their opening game, dropping a disappointing 1-2 decision to lowly team Newcastle United last Sunday at their home field of White Hart Lane, as per BBC Sport.
Tottenham defender Eric Dier scored at the 39th minute to give Mauricio Pochettino's boys the chance to extend their winning streak to 15 games, but the Magpies' forward duo of Aleksandar Mitrovic and Ayoze Perez each scored a goal late in the second half to help their team come from behind and steal the victory.
The predicted result is a close 1-0 victory for Tottenham Hotspur. The Spurs bounce back from their heartbreaking loss against a struggling Southampton eleven right at the Saints' home turf.
