The loving parents of a baby who has survived being born with a partial brain and skull have posted a heartwarming Facebook photo of the infant's first visit with Santa Claus. Doctors were worried that the baby boy would not survive a week after being born in August 2014, due to suffering from a condition in which fluid replaces brain tissue. However, the "miracle baby" is beating the odds and is now almost 15 months old as his second Christmas and New Year's approach.
Jaxon Buell was born with a rare condition called Microhydranencephaly, according to ABC News. However, his health status is so good that he was able to visit Santa Claus, which his mother Brittany shared by posting a picture on the social network, according to AOL.
Jaxon's father Brandon recently uploaded another Facebook photograph of Jaxon looking at the family's Christmas tree. He shared that his son can see, hear, smile, laugh, talk, and walk.
Brandon also reported that Jaxon can now eat on his own. It shows that one day he might not need to use his feeding pump, which is the only machine he is still dependent on.
Even though there is no guarantee that their son will live a long life, his family is thankful for every moment they have with Jaxon. He is with them now.
Jaxon's father shared that he has inspired the lives of many people like other special needs children have. He thanked everyone who has supported and shared his son's ongoing life story.
The infant's family has received generous financial support through the crowdfunding site GoFundMe. This has allowed Jaxon's mother to stay at home to care for him.
