"SteamWorld Heist" is popular for having an intriguing plot, plus impressive chunk of world building, and simply the best strategy among many popular games. This has put it in a high rank and is recommended by many gamers.

"SteamWorld Heist" is a sequel to the action adventure game, "SteamWorld Dig," although it is different from its predecessor when it comes to genre. SteamWorld Heist was recently launched on the Nintendo 3DS eShop, abandoning "SteamWorld Dig's" resource mining and bringing in new turn-based tactics. Polygon described the new game as a Two-dimensional XCOM, with cover mechanics and real-time aiming.

"Steamworld Heist's" deep-rooted cast enables the game to tell its story more directly, while dealing out permanent death. Whenever a robot experiences sufficient damage in "SteamWorld Heist," it falls into pieces and is automatically removed from the mission, in exchange with receiving an XP, which is considered a great compromise and also conforms with the game's tradition. Once the robot is reassembled again on Faraday's ship, they will surely grumble about getting beat up, but then they will be ready again for another mission, God is a Geek reported.

Just like in many tactics games, players will eventually have to make up a core technique that will work for them throughout the huge part of the game. Every character carries a specific set of weapons and skills that they can utilize. And although they do fall into particular archetypes such as the "tank" or the "leader," their varying stats as well as gun preferences is what makes each of them unique.
