The moon is to give light at Christmas Day as a rare full moon is to light up the night sky on Christmas this year.
This is a rare full moon since 1977. NASA said that this is the first time that there will be full moon on Christmas Day since 1977 at 6:11 a.m. ET, Insight Ticker reported.
It will be a special Christmas Day this year, lighting up the night sky with a full moon.
"A full moon will occur on Christmas for the first time since 1977 and will reach its peak size at 6:11 a.m. ET.," according to NASA.
The year 2034 will be the next Christmas Day with full moon, two decades from now.
Despite having a light in the night sky on Christmas Day this year, forecasters said that it is unlikely to have a white Christmas this year, the report said.
In United Kingdom, Met Office forecaster Madlen Burgess said that the "general outlook for the coming fortnight is unsettled but mild," Telegraph reported. Burgess added that the Christmas Day will be mostly cloudy with "odd outbreak of rain and temperatures hovering between 8C to 12C," the report added.
The lunar phase moon this month of December is known as the Full Cold Moon.
This phase, when occured every December, is known as the Full Cold Moon. A full moon on a December will bring cold wind and a night which is long and dark.
