Vin Diesel regularly releases updstes about the developments of "xXx: The Return Of Xander Cage," through his social media account, Facebook. He recently announced the return of Samuel L. Jackson.
The actor will finally return to the franchise after holding Ice Cube's hand via through "xXx 2: State of the Union" as NSA handler Augustus Gibbons, Screen Rant reported. Diesel posted on his Facebook about his excitement to work with Jackson again in the third entry of the jam-packed action franchise.
In the original "xXx," it was Jackson's Gibbons who encouraged Xander to work for the United States government, which let him become the hero he was always meant to be. Having Jackson back should definitely help with regard to improving confidence in the film. Considering Diesel was missing after the first movie, Jackson has become the actor who perfectly grounds the "xXx" universe, ComicBook Resources reported.
However, bringing back a plethora of elements of the original "xXx" also makes other people wonder on how the threequel will fare with today's modern audiences. One of the appealing parts of "xXx" was its spoofing of the James Bond franchise.
The iteration of the franchise might probably show Xander concentrating even more on being an international guy of intrigue rather than an extreme athlete. For Jackson, on the other hand, only time will tell if bringing back this kind of start power will further improve the franchise or if it will crash and burn it in spite of his presence.
