Besides an interest in women's fashion ala "Star Wars," the global premier of "Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens" on Dec. 15 has also benefitted the porn industry.

"Star Wars XXX," a porn parody of the sci-fi franchise, is enjoying a 500 percent increase in DVD sales since the start of the month, reports Mashable. Produced by GameLink in 2012 at a cost substantially lower than the $11 million of "The Force Awakens," the 20-minute video is nevertheless the highest-budget porn film produced.

Explaining the boost in interest in their three-year-old movie, Jeff Dillion, executive at GameLink, says, "The spike in sales for the parody is representative of a much larger tend of brand-specific merchandise for Star Wars, which shows the strong bond fans have with the movies."

He adds, "We began noticing a gradual increase in sales of the title at the beginning of November, but it wasn't until the past two weeks that purchases of Star Wars XXX really skyrocketed." Viewers, apparently, are interested in other types of "sabers" other than those that light up.

"Star Trek" also has a parody porn version titled, "Star Trek XXX." Even sports superstars such as UFC fighter Ronda Rousey has a parody porn movie titled "Ronda ArouseMe: Grounded and Pounded."

Esquire points out that "Star Wars XXX" is the fourth porn parody about the movie franchise. The first one, released in 1977, is "Star Babe" about three space women who fly to Phallus, a planet, to stop the villains from overthrowing Earth. The second one is "Sex Wars," released in 1985, a story about two space heroes who attempt to rescue space Princess Orgasma from the bad guys. Finally, there is "Star Whores," also released in 2012.
