Google's Nexus 6P is now priced at $450 and the 5X at $330. The lower price tag is a result of the $50 price off that Google announced on Wednesday.
Besides the price cut which is good from Dec. 22 through 30, Google also promised free overnight shipment for orders of those phones in the U.S. and Japan, reports Engadget.
Following the announcement, also disseminated through social media, a recent buyer asked Google through a tweet if he can get a $50 refund because he purchased at full price on Dec. 14, two days before the announcement. Google advised the customer to speak with its agent.
Other consumers expressed the same concern as Hafiz Imtiaz, the one who asked for a refund. Ricky Smith feels "offended" being an early adopter, while Joey Sack, Zate and Nadine Grace Curry "lament" buying their Nexus phones a few days before the price reduction.
However, Tony DiMarzio shares that his agent had told him that they credited $50 back to his card since be purchased one before Dec. 1.
It is the first price cut for the Nexus 6P, and The Verge comments that "it's not a terrible one." It adds that the Nexus 6P is the best Android smartphone on the market, which makes the lower $450 price tag a "good buy."
The Verge also hints that Best Buy will soon stock on the Nexus 6P. Best Buy previously stocked the Nexus 5X as part of its Cyber Monday sales.
