The Grammy-nominated rapper Tauheed Epps, better known as Tity Boi or 2 Chainz, got into a hot argument with HLN show host, Nancy Grace, who tried to pick him for supporting marijuana legalization.
Rapper 2 Chainz defended his pro-pot stance while Grace tried to bring forth the dangers of legalizing pot in a 60 minute debate.
Apart from 2 Chainz, the panel of guests included Norman Kent, Chair person of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML) and Brad Lamm, addiction specialist.
However, the HLN show focused on the debate between Grace and the 37-year-old rapper, who would not budge from his stance.
Grace cited several cases of marijuana, including the recent one in which a three-year-old girl from Colorado died in a mobile home fire while her mother and father were reportedly drinking alcohol and smoking pot outside their home. She then questioned Chainz on how he could support pot legalization when so many people look up to him.
In reply, 2 Chainz said that alcohol was included in the Colorado incident, which causes people to completely black out. He also referred to the parents as "irresponsible." "I don't think you could put an umbrella on the whole community off these few incidents that you just named," said the rapper in a calm tone.
Grace then showed the viewers a picture from 2 Chainz Twitter feed, in which he was seen smoking pot. Unfazed, the rapper replied that one need not be a genius to know that giving drugs to any child is wrong.
Showing a viral video of a mother allowing her little daughter to smoke a blunt, Grace requested 2 Chainz to think of the kids while talking about legalizing marijuana.
The rapper said that he is a great father to two beautiful daughters, and added that there has to be a "structure" in place and everybody should take care of their own household.
In one instance, when Grace allowed 2 Chainz to speak out and express his opinion on legalizing marijuana, the rapper said that anybody can acquire pot.
"I just feel like if you legalize this particular drug you could cut out certain things in the criminal justice system as far as the overcrowding of prisons, as far as putting it on our criminal record to prevent us from getting loans, to prevent us from getting homes. Just the whole thing around recreational weed isn't making any sense to me," said Chainz 2.
The rapper managed to silence the host only when he related an incident when the cops once stopped his tour bus after smelling marijuana. The police filed charges against his team of security persons after they found a pot residue in the bus. They later dropped the charges, which according to Chainz 2 resulted in "a waste of taxpayers' time and money."
