Die hard "Pokémon" Wii U fans are on the lookout for "Pokken Tournament," which is the Pokémon-infused fighting game that will arrive in the spring. In connection to this, Japanese players can use a dedicated controller for the game.

The "Pokken Tournament" is being developed by Bandai Namco, the same outfit that brought Tekken and Soulcalibur. Katsuhiro Harada of "Tekken" and Maasaki Hoshino of "Soulcaliber" are said to be in charge of the project.

The official "Pokken Tournament" controller is wired and does not contain any analog joystick. It contains a directional pad and four action buttons on its face. A dedicated "ZL" and "ZR" trigger buttons are also located near the Select and Start buttons. Traditionally, the trigger buttons are located on the backside of the gamepad. Since the controller is wired, there are no batteries to charge or replace. This also gives the controller a cheaper base price. A lot of "Pokémon" will consider buying this controller once it is available in their area, Tiny Cartridge reported.

For now the "Pokken Tournament" is only confirmed to be released in Japan. However, since the game will also be released in Europe and North America, many fans outside Japan believe that the controller will soon be available to them as well. It is also speculated that the controller might be bundled with the game, when it reaches the overseas markets, EnGadget reported.

The "Pokken Tournament" will be released in Japan on March 18, 2016. Europe and North America will experience the game on the second quarter of the same year.
