The tussle between the Silicon Valley and the Federal over the industry encryption is nothing uncanny. The fight is even getting uglier with the Paris attack recently.
The heat is slowly getting turned up towards the tech companies by none other than Republican and the Democratic politicians including Obama. All the parties demand tech firms to assist the government fight out the ISIS. Social sites like Facebook, Twitter and Google are carving backdoors for the government agencies.
The social sites acting as the backdoor for the political parties to access the user encrypted data. The very call for the backdoor means have revived the kind of political fight which compelled President Obama to intrude in October, while he decided to stop pursuing the legislation since that required the tech companies to consent him.
The Re-Code, Security Expert, at the large Walt Mossberg says that the "government only" backdoors are subjected to the constant risk of hacking and other malwares. Hence, enabling the state of surveillance will not be a good idea.
As per the intelligence agency and the defense officials, they have to examine thoroughly the encrypted information in order to restrict the deadly attacks like what took place in Paris. This is so, although there was no encrypted communication involved behind the attack in Paris and San Bernardino.
President Obama wants the social media sites to completely shut down the online space which are used by the extremists to organize attacks and formulate the propaganda. Hillary Clinton, on the other hand, craves for a great cooperation in terms of encryption. She needs the social site management to improve to restrict any chances of threats and violations.
Meanwhile, Jeb Bush believes that the tech companies have fostered a dangerous situation by the data encryption.
However, it is reported that a more collaboration is needed between the public and the private sector company.
