CBS Sports analyst Greg Anthony, 47, was arrested for soliciting a prostitute at 5:46 p.m. on Jan. 16, Friday but was released hours later after he was held in the District 2 station, according to Washington, D.C. police.
According to Lt. Kelvin Cusick, Anthony is facing a misdemeanor solicitation charge, which is punishable by up to 180 days of incarceration, according to NJ.
Anthony was scheduled to broadcast the Michigan State-Maryland game on Jan. 17, Saturday on CBS. Further details about his arrest are yet to be released.
Before he became a television analyst for CBS Sports in 2008, Anthony was an NBA player for 11 seasons from 1991-1992 to 2001-2002. Over his NBA career, he averaged 7.3 points per game, according to Los Angeles Times.
In 1990, Anthony won an NCAA title with the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he served as a star guard. The New York Knicks drafted him in the first round of the 1991 NBA Draft. Known for being an ineffective outside shooter but an outstanding defender at the time, he served as a point guard and defensive specialist for four seasons.
In 1995, the Vancouver Grizzlies picked up Anthony in the expansion draft. For two seasons, he served as the full-time starter at point guard. Before he retired from being an NBA player in 2002, Anthony also played mostly off the bench for one season with the Seattle SuperSonics as well as three with the Portland Trail Blazers and another one last season split between the Chicago Bulls and Milwaukee Bucks.
