"Two And A Half Men" executive producer Chuck Lorre said Charlie Sheen did help make the CBS sitcom a hit.
At a press conference, Lorre told reporters that "it would be inappropriate not to acknowledge our success with Charlie," People reported.
Expressing how grateful he is for Sheen's contribution to the success of "Two And A Half Men," Lorre said, "I have nothing but good feelings for those eight and half years."
According to Lorre, writing the Feb. 19 series finale was a "tricky sticky wicket."
In 2014, , Sheen made headlines after allegedly sexually assaulting a dental technician, Margarita Palestino, weeks before he announced that he and his fiancée Brett Rossi.
In a lawsuit she filed against Sheen, Palestino accused the actor of entering the dental clinic while high on cocaine and grabbed her left breast and bra strap and his assistant of bribing her with $500 for the trouble Sheen caused.
The allegations were denied by the dental himself and Sheen. Right after the lawsuit was filed, Sheen's lawyer told TMZ it was a "ridiculous claim by an opportunist looking to make her 15 minutes of fame and my client is confident he will prevail in this absurd lawsuit."
When Sheen and Rossi broke up, the "Two And A Half Men" episode titled "A Chic Bar In Ibiza" that aired on Nov. 6, 2014 was coincidentally about the character Alan played by John Cryer hesitating about getting married after another character Walden played by Ashton Kutcher asked him to sign a pre-nup.
