Bobby Brown reminisced his memories of love and personal struggles with his late ex-wife Whitney Houston. The "Bobby Brown: Remembering Whitney" special interview took him back in memory lane. Their unstable marriage, the violence, and drug addiction were deliberated on "Lifetime Television," E! Online reported.
The couple's personal life and marriage was also shown on "Whitney," a film made without the "I Will Always Love You" singer icon family's consent. The "Bodyguard" actress' ex-husband described several points about his life with the pop star and their infamous relationship.
His first date with Houston was his primary topic. He recalls seeing the comedy film "Uncle Buck" starring John Candy in 1989.
Brown told E Online how he proposed to Houston at the back of her car when she picked him up at the airport. He pops the question and she accepted instantly. Their wonderful wedding was held at the singer's New Jersey home in 1992. They exchanged vows in front of families and friends, and numerous well-known executives in the music industry. He recalls her wanting the wedding to be perfect, she was a "bridezilla."
Infidelity was touched as Brown admits how both of them cheated during the time of marriage. "There was infidelity in the marriage, yes, on both parts. Both of us cheated on each other. We make mistakes," he added. "We're human."
There was domestic violence too remembering a 911 call that came from their home. Brown did not admit that he hit Houston but rather stated that they were just playing around and he hit her unintentionally which cut her lip and bruised her cheek. He added that his niece made the call upon seeing the bruised Houston but he never hit her at all. Brown apologized for the act and Houston stood by him at the court singing "(You make Me Feel Like A) Natural Woman" while on her way out. Brown was sentenced in jail due to the incident and some probation violations.
In 2006, Houston filed for divorce and Brown got the divorce papers while having his meal at a Chinese restaurant. He felt hurt and surprised.
Adding more revelations and marital issues, drug addiction and abuse to the substance was exposed. Brown disclosed being addicted and dependent on the substance throughout their lives. Brown witnessed his wife use drugs on their honeymoon; she did not do it in excess, however, later in the marriage, she did.
In the TV film "Whitney," it depicted that the New Edition singer was jealous of his wife's success; to which Brown denied.
Brown admits that there are so many beautiful things to remember about his late ex-wife; "She has a long list of things she should be remembered for but for the most part, that voice," he said. "That voice and that heart."
Houston died in room 212 of the Beverly Hilton hotel due to accidental drowning in the bath tub. Reports added that cocaine was a one of the reasons for her death. It was a day before the Grammy Awards in 2012, CBS News reported.
