The Asus ZenFone 3, the latest iteration to middle class smartphones from Asus, is rumored to roll out featuring a fingerprint scanner which is commonly found in high-end devices. This latest smartphone will reportedly hit the market in June 2016.
Asus ZenFone 3 is rumored to feature the biometric security on their upcoming mid-range handset. This new feature is said to be developed by ELAN Microelectronics Corp., a developer of biometrics security in Taiwan, partnered with a fingerprint sensor manufacturer from China Goodix.
The Asus ZenFone 3 is believed to have a higher price tag than usual, considering its high-end feature. A report by Tech Radar, however, claimed that price of the fingerprint scanner components has dropped significantly within the past few months allowing mid-range devices to sport this type of feature without any additional cost. The cost of the upcoming mid-range smartphone will probably range somewhere between $200 and $300.
The new and much awaited Asus ZenFone 3 is confirmed to feature a Type-C USB technology, according to Jonney Shih chairman of Asus, via an interview with Trusted Reviews.
"I think Type C is the way to go, frankly speaking. You will see the answer when you see the ZenFone 3," Shih said during the interview in October.
Meanwhile, Asus Zenfone series is said to be distributed to never been reached markets before like Myanmar, Egypt, Cambodia, Nigeria, and Bangladesh. Asus has received tremendous success with their previous releases not only in the Southeast Asia region, but also in countries like Brazil and Russia.
