Cosmetic surgeons are expecting a lucrative career in 2016, lifting women's butts, no doubt influenced by celebrities with large behinds led by Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Lopez and Nicki Minaj.
Data from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons showed that buttocks implants and lifts were the second and third fastest growing cosmetic surgeries in the U.S. in 2014, with the trend continued in 2015 and likely in the coming year, reports the New York Post. However, while demand for cosmetic procedure on the derriere are up, it is declining for breast augmentation procedures as the Dolly Parton-like chest has become passe, as well as for eyelid surgery and facelift.
A Brazilian butt lift, the procedure that Dr. Matthew Schulman specializes, costs $13,000. It involves using liposuction to get fat from other body parts and reinjecting it in their bottoms. He uses body fat instead of silicone implants which are prone to infection and could relocate in other body parts.
The procedure takes three to three and a half hours. He cites five female butts that are the peg of patients who bring photos of these celebrities as their rear models. These are the seaters of Kim if they want a bug butt with projection, Nicki for big hips, Jennifer for big and muscular, Sofia Vergara for proportionately voluptuous and Jessica Biel for perky and bubbly.
Some women go for a $17,500 package deal that includes butt augmentation, breast lift and liposuction. However, Schulman is realistic and foresees less women having the procedure in 10 years as the slim athletic look becomes trendy again.
Meanwhile, Kim showed her post-baby figure - that is minus the front bump but still with the trademark Internet-breaking backside - when she posted two family photos with partner Kanye West and firstborn North West with a Christmas tree background and North meeting Santa Claus, reports People.
