"The Flash" season 2 will feature a new promo trailer highlighting Killer Frost, Earth 2 Barry Allen and Reverse-Flash, as well as the possible death of Patty Spivot in the show.
A new promo trailer for "The Flash" season 2 titled "Pretty Messed Up" will feature Barry Allen/The Flash (Grant Gustin), Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes) and Earth 2 Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) travelling to Earth 2 via Speed Canon under S.T.A.R. Labs. There trip to Earth 2 will have something to do with stopping Zoom (Tony Todd) and rescue Harrison's daughter, Jesse Chambers Wells (Violette Bean) after the evil speedster kidnaps her in their world.
The team will encounter familiar faces, but with different personalities such as Earth 2 Barry Allen who is speculated to be a reporter in Earth 2 Central City and has a moment with Earth 2 Iris West (Candice Patton). The promo will also feature Caitlin Snow's (Danielle Panabaker) evil alter-ego, Killer Frost as fans learned through the leaked behind-the-scenes photos that this version of Killer Frost is from Earth 2 and she is after Earth 2 Barry Allen in one scene.
But the most surprising scene in the promo trailer is the return of season 1 main villain, Eobard Thawne/Reverse-Flash (Matt Letscher) in the show. The show's Executive Producer Tom Helbing told Entertainment Weekly that Reverse-Flash's impossible return to the show will have one member in Team Flash in danger and Barry has to make an ultimatum in order to rescue that person.
Reverse-Flash was responsible for killing Barry's mother, Nora and framing Henry Allen (John Wesley-Shipp) for her murder. He is also responsible for the particle accelerator explosion tat grant Barry his super speed and turn some of the citizens of Central City into metahumans. Reverse-Flash was defeated by the noble sacrifice by Eddie Thawne (Rick Cosnett), given he is Eobard's ancestor and killing himself will erase his existence from the present timeline. It is unknown yet what kind of scheme will Reverse-Flash have against Team Flash, but fans will soon find out when the show returns next year.
In other news, there are rumors making rounds that Barry's new love interest, detective Patty Spivot (Shantel VanSanten) will likely die in the show.
It is speculated during the episode 10 promo "Potential Energy" that Zoom will kidnap Patty to lure The Flash into a confrontation with the villain. Earth Harrison Wells warned Barry that Zoom will target everyone that Barry cared about just to get what he wants.
Episode 10 will likely have Barry confess to Patty that he is The Flash, but with Zoom kidnapping her it seems that Barry will be too late say it, let alone save her. It is theorized that Patty's death at the hands of Zoom will be the drive for Barry to go faster, which Zoom wanted. However, if Patty manages to survive the ordeal, audiences will see a whole new and different dynamic between Barry and Patty's relationship, International Business Times reported.
"The Flash" returns on Tuesday Jan. 19, 2016 on the CW Network.
