While "Star Wars" fans are speculating that Rey from J.J. Abrams' "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens" could be a Skywalker descent, some argue that she could be a Kenobi.
According to Mr. Sunday Movies YouTube channel, Rey is actually releated to Obi-Wan Kenobi, which delineates from other fans' speculations about the Jakku scavenger that she was a descendant of a Skywalker or Han and Leia's daughter.
Aside from folded tunics of sandy colors, the clip also pointed out that Rey and Obi-Wan share some Jedi mind tricks, allowing them to access other people's minds and instruct them to do something.
Mr. Sunday Movies also theorized that Rey could be Kenobi's granddaughter, similar to the theory saying that Kylo Ren is the grandson of Anakin Skywalker. According to Zimbio, Rey could be born to Kenobi's child when he was exiled and that person might have brought Rey to Jakku.
In the current "Star Wars" timeline, it is assumed that Luke Skywalker is set to train Rey, assuming that she is the granddaughter of Kenobi, the man who trained him, according to Cinema Blend. Overall, the theory on Rey's connection to Kenobi could explain the mysteries behind the events between Rey and the lightsaber, which was owned by Kenobi for a long period of time.
Meanwhile, Rey is played by Daisy Ridley in J.J. Abrams' "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens." Set 30 years after the events in the "Return of Jedi," the film also stars Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Adam Driver, Gwendoline Christie, Max von Sydow, Simon Pegg, Oscar Isaac, and Domhnall Gleeson, among others.
Abrams' "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens" is now showing in theaters.
