Avid fans are now awaiting the next sequel to "Star Wars: the Force Awakens," which is currently in progress and initially titled "Star Wars: Episode VIII."
The upcoming film will be under the direction of Rian Johnson, who used to direct "Looper" that starred Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Bruce Willis. No recent rumors or news reveal why J J Abrams left the director's seat.
As per Cinemablend, Disney likes a new approach of direction to the franchise. They may be searching for new directors for their other sequels - directors that can come up with unique and fresh ideas. They may have chosen J J Abrams for the inner structure of the trilogy, and may leave fresh minds with the other "Star Wars" movies.
Movie Web says the next film has started shooting in Skellig Michael Island located in Ireland. The next film though may still be on its early stages, but speculations say more about the cast members who may repeat their roles from the original movie.
The much-talked about character is Han Solo who was played by Harrison Ford. The London premiere for the "Star Wars: the Force Awakens" featured the film producer Kathleen Kennedy where she mentioned something about the casting of the new Star Wars movie. She says there will be inclusions of new castings including those present tonight.
What seemed to be intriguing was having Harrison Ford behind her back when she delivered the interview. It may mean Han Solo should be back in the next film for a purpose. One must have to really see if he's on a flash back or something more than that.
Meanwhile, the existing stars of "Star Wars: the Force Awakens" may repeat their roles in the next sequels, which include Benecio Del Toro as the villain of the story.
