The LG G5 is speculated to arrive with a secondary display like the present on LG V10. It will also be featuring a Magic Slot as well as two cameras on its rear panel.
The main screen of the LG G5 will be of 5.3 inches and it will carry support for Quad HD resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. The secondary display will be placed above the main screen. It will carry support for 160 x 1040 pixels and will function like the ticker screen available on the LG G4, Venture Beat reported citing anonymous source.
The Snapdragon 820 chipset will be powering the LG G4 successor. It will be featuring a quad-core processor along with Adreno 530 graphics. The SoC will deliver smooth performance along with 3 GB of RAM.
The native storage of the LG G5 will be of 32 GB. As of this writing, there is no proper evidence on whether the handset will be carrying support for external storage or not.
The rear camera of the LG G5 will be of 16-megapixel. It will be accompanied by a secondary lens that will allow users to shoot 135 degree wide angled photos. The rear cameras will be supported by an LED flash that will be equipped with a laser autofocus.
The rear panel will be also housing a fingerprint scanner. Its design will be similar to that of the fingerprint sensor present on the recently released LG Nexus 5X smartphone.
The LG G4 is packed with a huge battery of 3,400 mAh capacity. However, early speculations suggest that the LG G5 will be equipped with a 2,800 mAh capacity battery. Compared to predecessor Snapdragon chipsets, the SD 820 chip is more efficient.
Also, the Doze mode feature available on Android 6.0 that makes app go inactive when the handset is not in use will also considerable help in generating longer battery life on the upcoming LG G5 smartphone.
Lastly, the Magic Slot feature will let users to add extra hardware to the smartphone to expand its capabilities. For instance, to snap 360 degree photos, users will be able to add an accessory to the Magic Slot. In the same, the slot may allow users to attach a physical QWERTY keyboard, Phone Arena reported.
