New "Tekken 7" details will feature more guest characters and a PC version soon, as well as the launch date for the sequel in the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Bandai Namco teased that more guest characters will be features in "Tekken 7" soon as "Street Fighter" fan favorite Akuma has been added to roster making him the first video game character to crossover in the series. Seniors Game Designer Michael Murray and Visual Design Manager Kousuke Waki told PlayStation Lifestyle what role will Akuma play in the sequel.
According to Murray, he and franchise creator Katsuhiro Harada were first against the idea of having guest characters in "Tekken 7" stating that adding them will "throw off" the game's setting and storyline, but stated that Akuma fits in "Tekken 7's" plot since he made some sort of debt with game's final boss character, Kazumi Mishima and added that it is not some "cheesy gimmick".
When asked about more guest characters in "Tekken 7" Murray stated that Akuma is the only fighter planned for "Tekken 7" as they have no plans yet for more crossover characters, but they are still open with the idea in the future.
"Tekken 7's" roster includes Jin, Kazuya, Heihachi, Hwoarang, Steve Fox, Asuka, Lili, Xiaoyu, Bryan Fury, Feng Wei, Dragunov, King, Leo, Lars, Alisa, Paul Phoenix, Marshall Law and Yoshimitsu. New faces are also introduced in the sequel such as Katarina Alves, Claudio Serafino, Jose Rizal, Lucky Chloe, Shaheen, Gigas, Jack-7 and Kazumi Mishima.
Other fighters joining roster include Jun Kazama, Kunimitsu, Angel, Anna, Nina, Kuma and Bob.
In other news, "Tekken 7" could likely be released in the later months of 2016 as Bandai Namco stated that updated version of game, "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" will launch first in the arcades in Japan in the early months this year, GameRevolution reported.
So far, Bandai Namco has not yet announced if "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" could be out in arcades in the Western regions.
It is rumored that "Tekken 7" will launch on February this year for the PS4 and Xbox One consoles as Bandai Namco wanted to be ahead of the competition since Capcom's "Street Fighter 5" will launch in the same month.
Harada also teased a PC version of the game when he tweeted an answer to a fan on Twitter stating that he is aware of the request. With the PC version being a possibility, "Tekken 7" could be available in the SteamOS as it allows to stream games from Windows, Linux and Mac.
