Ex-Manchester United midfielder Anderson Luís de Abreu Oliveira, or simply "Anderson", is reportedly set to join China League One's Hebei Zhongji China Fortune FC this January at a yet undisclosed amount.
The 27-year-old Brazilian was officially a Red Devil from 2007 to 2015 although he spent his last season with the Old Trafford giants on loan for Fiorentina. He began his senior career with Brazilian Serie A squad Gremio from 2004 to 2005, then moved to Portugal with FC Porto from 2005 to 2007.
Right now, he is back in Brazil playing for Sport Club Internacional as his game as a "central midfielder never fully established himself in Sir Alex Ferguson's side as a result of poor form and a number of injuries", as per Yahoo Sports.
Internacional had already turned down a £4.3 million bid by Hebei Fortune, but rumors were out that the Chinese squad is determined to improve the offer and snag the Porto Alegre, Brazil to their side as early as this month, via Tribal Football.
Anderson appeared in 181 games for Manchester United in all competitions, scoring nine goals in eight seasons for the Premier League powerhouse as a defensive midfielder. He also played eight matches for the Brazil national football team, two in 2007 and six in 2008.
Anderson won four Premier League titles with the Red Devils, in seasons 2007-2008, 2008-2009, 2010-2011, and 2012-2013. He also won the 2008 Golden Boy Award, a recognition given to the top under-21-year-old active footballer in Europe, after his transfer from Porto to United that season.
The move to China is seen as an opportunity for Anderson to once again showcase his old form after a steady decline in the past couple of years.
