Finnish bantamweight sensation, Toni "Dynamite" Tauru (10-2) is set to take on unbeaten 19-year old fighter Muin "Tajik" Gafurov (9-0) from Tajikistan at ONE Wujie: Dynasty of Champions which takes place 23 January at the Changsha Stadium in Changsha, China.
Tauru returns to the ONE Cage after challenging for the ONE Bantamweight World Championship against the reigning champion Bibiano Fernandes in his last bout. Tauru owns a stellar professional mixed martial arts record with seven of his victories by submission.
Although he fell short of his bid for a world title, Tauru will now look to get back on the board with a win over a high-caliber opponent in the young Gafurov.
Muin Gafurov of Dushanbe, Tajikistan is an undefeated 19-year old MMA prospect.
Gafurov was successful in his ONE Championship debut with a victory over the tough Casey Suire, and was victorious in his last outing with a different promotion.
Of Gafurov's nine victories, six have come by submission, making his battle with Tauru a high-level matchup of grapplers.
The event will also feature the Changsha Bantamweight Tournament, showcasing a series of highly-talented local fighters to determine the tournament champion.
ONE Wujie: Dynasty of Champions is one of many ONE events to come in 2016, with a focus on cultivating the sport of mixed martial arts in mainland China. Tauru squaring off against Gafurov proves to be a compelling matchup of bantamweights that is sure to entice fans of the sport.
