On December 6th, YG Entertainment released an official statement saying, "After careful discussions and based on strong trust, we have signed an exclusive contract with BLACKPINK for their group activities. With YG's full support, BLACKPINK plans to return the love of fans worldwide with the release of a new album and a massive world tour, befitting their global status." Negotiations regarding individual contracts of the members are currently ongoing.

This renewal ensures BLACKPINK's continued partnership with YG Entertainment since their debut on August 8, 2016. With the members' strong commitment to group activities, they are expected to be more active under YG's support, raising the status of K-Pop with their historic journey.

Yang Hyun-suk, YG's chief producer, expressed his delight in continuing the relationship with BLACKPINK, saying, "We will do our best to ensure that BLACKPINK shines even brighter on the global music stage as not only our representative artists but also as representatives of K-Pop, and we will continue to support and believe in their journey."

Since their debut with the double title tracks 'Whistle' and 'Boombayah' in August 2016, BLACKPINK has grown into artists who consistently hit mega-success with each release. From 'Playing with Fire', 'STAY', 'As If It's Your Last', 'DDU-DU DDU-DU', 'Kill This Love', 'How You Like That', 'Pink Venom', to 'Shut Down', they have led a wave of popularity, achieving No. 1 hits and creating a phenomenon with each release.

The group has risen to become the world's top girl group. BLACKPINK made history as the first K-Pop girl group to achieve double million seller status and also topped the US 'Billboard 200'. In April, they became the first Asian artist to headline the 'Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival' in California, USA, and proved their presence as the first K-Pop artist headliner at the UK's Hyde Park Festival.

Their world tour's scale was also a notable achievement. BLACKPINK's largest world tour for a K-Pop girl group, 'BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR 'BORN PINK'', saw them meeting 1.8 million fans worldwide. They became the group to generate the highest revenue from a single tour globally.

Recently, BLACKPINK as a complete group was honored with the Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE), a distinction previously awarded to world-renowned musicians like The Beatles and Adele. This honor reflects BLACKPINK's status as a symbol of K-Pop's global prominence.

As BLACKPINK continues to raise the bar for K-Pop and each member cements their status as icons in various fields, the synergy of their continued partnership with YG is eagerly anticipated.
