Chinese Super League club Shanghai Greenland Shenhua FC is reportedly targeting West Ham United FC striker Emmanuel Emenike in the summer even as he had already turned down their previous bid during the ongoing Chinese winter transfer window.

The 28-year-old goalscorer chose to join the English Premier League side just this Jan. 31 on loan from Turkish Süper Lig squad Fenerbahçe SK amidst a massive £5.5million per season salary offer from the CSL giants.

With less than a month playing for the Irons in England, the Mirror indicated that Emenike "remains a target for Chinese club" and that the Blue Devils are still keen on submitting another proposal to him when the EPL season concludes with hopes of finally luring him to play in Shanghai.

It was reported that Shanghai Shenhua briefly turned their attention on Chelsea forward Loic Remy after Emenike's rejection of their bid, but the Stamford Bridge residents were said to be uninterested in a deal as they are deficient of attacking options this season.

With that, Gregorio Manzano's squad expressed their intention of trying to acquire Emenike again this summer.

The Otuocha, Aguleri, Nigeria native has played only once so far for West Ham, a 0-1 Premier League loss to Southampton at the St. Mary's Stadium on Feb. 6th, where he came in as a 73rd minute substitute to Michail Antonio, as per Turkish Football.

He spent the first half of the current season on loan to Abu Dhabi club Al-Ain FC, where he scored nine times in 15 appearances in all competitions for the Boss.

West Ham is in the thick of the fight for the EPL title this season and is currently at the no. 7 spot of the league tables, tied on points with Southampton but has a slightly lesser goal differential of +9 as compared to the Saints' +10.

The Hammers failed to move up to fifth spot in the standings after they settled for a 2-2 draw against newly-promoted team Norwich City during the weekend.

The team now has 40 points, one point behind fifth-running Manchester United and 13 points clear off current league leaders Manchester City.
