According to the latest rumors, Microsoft is working on Windows 10 Mobile ROM for smartphones like Xiaomi Mi 5 and OnePlus 3.

The Redmond tech giant officially released its ROM for Xiaomi Mi 4 customers back in December 2015 and is now shortly expected to introduce the ROM to other Smartphones this year. As reported by Nokia Power User, in a little while, Microsoft will also announce the Windows 10 mobile ROM for OnePlus 2 owners.

It is important to note, however, that although Microsoft plans to release Windows 10 ROM for Xiaomi Mi 5 and OnePlus 3, the devices have not been launched yet. Xiaomi Mi 5 hearsays propose that the device will be launched in two different versions; one will feature Android 6.0 Marshmallow while the other will accommodate Windows 10 Mobile.

This is not the first time Xiaomi will launch a device in two editions of operating systems. When the company announced the Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 tablet, it was launched in two separate versions of Windows 10 OS and Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Analysts say that if Mi 5 and OnePlus 3 come out with the Windows 10 operating system, more fans may grab them.

According to the grapevine, there are also other claims suggesting that Mi 5 will not come in a Windows version. Rather, it will run Microsoft's OS through its ROM. As of now, Xiaomi and OnePlus have teamed with Microsoft so as to bring Windows 10 mobile ROM to a number of their smartphones, Softpedia reported.

Reports also confirm that Microsoft Corporation is constantly working to improve the Windows 10 Mobile operating system's performance. The tech giant was prospected to announce the Windows 10 in December 2015 to the eligible devices, but the operation was later pushed to January. The operating system is currently rumored to be arriving on Feb. 29.

Meanwhile, Microsoft has unveiled a Windows 10 Preview build of 14217 for mobile users to register for the Windows Insider program. Presently, the only smartphones that have the Windows 10 Mobile operating system are Lumia 650, Lumia 550, Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL.
