"Sherlock" season 4 spoilers indicate that Mary may die and there may be a third Holmes brother on the horizon as well.
The new season of "Sherlock" is expected to be released in early 2017. With one bonus episode titled "The Abominable Bride" already there, the viewers are surely getting restless to know as to what will happen in the upcoming season.
All the main characters will be coming back in the season, along with a few new faces as well. Rumors are rife that the filming for "Sherlock" Season 4 has started at Pinewood Studios in Wales.

1. Season 4 will be better than Season 3: Director and showrunner Steven Moffat said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, that they plan on topping the previous season with the twists and turns of the upcoming season.
2. It will be much darker: According to Moffat, this season will be much darker. He said that the creative team is on their top game, in bringing out some fantastic ideas about the climax of the episodes in Season 4.
3. There will be a lot of surprises: Moffat said that he viewers will not be able to guess what will happen to Holmes or John Watson. The plot will play with the viewers' minds and that they should be ready for a huge brigade of surprises.
4. Someone very important will die: According to Moffat, Season 4 will be devastating, as they will be killing off a very important character. Will it be Watson? Or Mary?
5. So, Mary may actually die?: In Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's book version, Mary dies, according to iDigital Times. However, there are also reports that the directors may not follow this plot in the show.
6. Mary will also give birth: She is carrying a baby since Season 3, so this the delivery is about to happen.
7. Women will get to play bigger parts: It is rumoured that Janine will make a comeback. Also, Molly will also be playing a bigger role in season 4, in addition with Mrs. Hudson.
8. A Third Holmes brother will be introduced: Sherrinford Holmes will be making his debut in the upcoming season. Tom Hiddleston is rumoured to be playing this part.
