Director Corin Hardy has to look for a new star for "The Crow" reboot after "Dracula Untold" Luke Evans has officially quit the film to give way for other projects, which his publicist has confirmed to The Wrap.
"The Crow" distributor Relativity Media refused to comment on Evans' exit from the reboot, in which he was supposed to play Eric Draven, a poetic guitarist brought to life by a crow after he and his wife were murdered.
After "Dracula Untold," Evans starred in "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies" and will appear in the 2015 film "High Rise."
Evans is one of the many openly gay Hollywood actors who rarely play gay roles on the big screen. Recently, he was spotted with his rumored boyfriend Jon Kortajarena in Spain.
For Evans, it is important to be open about who he is and not care about people who do not like it as he is not a very good liar. He then cited musician George Michael who hid his homosexuality for so many years but eventually got found out.
In 2010, Evans dated publicist Holly Goodchild, who happens to be a former personal assistant to Welsh singing superstar Charlotte Church, Wales Online reported.
At the premiere of Evans' 2010 film "Tamara Drewe," Goodchild said, "Luke's lovely - we're really old friends and it just sort of happened. We are nowhere near engaged but things are really good."
Amid the current box-office success of his vampire film, Evans managed to not talk about his sexuality and who is currently dating.
