"Girl Meets World" season 2 lead star Rowan Blanchard recently talked about her sexual preference on Twitter.

The 14-year-old Disney Channel star previous dubbed herself as queer, but her statement did not sit well with some of her fans and critics.

"In my life - I only ever liked boys. However, I personally don't want to label myself as straight, gay or whateva so I am not gonna give myself labels to stick with just existing," she wrote.

In a follow up post, Blanchard responded to one fan who asked her to further define what exactly she meant when she said she's queer.

"Yes. Open to liking any gender in future is why I identify as queer," she replied.

Blanchard's thoughts were very similar to those of Miley Cyrus' statement about her sexuality.

Just recently, Cyrus started the Happy Hippie Foundation to focus on people who also identify themselves as queer, asexual, pansexual and the like, according to Inquisitr.

Meanwhile, the young actress previously spoke with Wonderland Magazine to share her thoughts on the backlash she received on social media.

"I'm okay with it now, but I still realize that I was allowing people to comment on something that's very personal. The first day I tweeted about it, it was definitely scary to see people commenting about things that literally have nothing to do with them," she said.

In other news, there are some rumors that Blanchard's preference may also be part of her character Riley's storylines in season 3.

On the contrary, it's also possible that Riley may not be revealed to be queer, but one of the characters on the show might be.

After all, the writers of "Girl Meets World" already confirmed that the sitcom has been renewed for a new season.

In fact, titles for the upcoming episodes have also been released online.

In the finale episode for season 2, Lucas will end up deciding on who among Riley and Maya he wants to be in a relationship with.

If Lucas decides to be with Maya, there's a possibility that Riley's sexual preference may be explored in the upcoming season.

"Girl Meets World" season 2 will air its finale episode on March 11.
