"Orange is the New Black" star Laura Prepon recently talked about her character Alex and Piper's (Taylor Schilling) relationship in season 4.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the actress confirmed that Alex and Piper will have a lot of scenes in the upcoming season because they will rely on each other a lot.

The actress also shared that season 4 will open right where season 3 ended so it will seem like a continuation.

"What's cool is season 4 actually picks up right where season 3 left off. So it's literally, it continues five seconds later, which is really great because at the end of the last season... I was in the greenhouse, and there was all this craziness going on and it's awesome," she said.

Meanwhile, Prepon also said that Alex will confront Piper in one of the upcoming episodes about not believing her in the first place.

"That's their relationship, and that's what's so interesting about them. They love each other and they hate each other, and it's frustrating and passionate, but there's definitely some vindication there, for sure. Piper thought she was crazy all season, but she wasn't," she explained.

In other news, Prepon also said that there will be some new inmates that will be introduced on the show.

Additionally, some of the old characters' backstories will also be revealed.

"This season I think is one of our best by far, and I think the fans are going to be really happy. Our writers are so good and Jenji is just so awesome, and they really, we just keep proving ourselves over and over again and Netflix just let's us do our thing, man, it's incredible," she said.

Meanwhile, photos from the upcoming fourth season showed some old and new cast members.

One of the snaps showed new cast member Jolene Purdy who has been cast for a recurring role. As of late though, it is still unclear if she will play the role of an inmate or something else, according to Pop Sugar.

"Orange is the New Black" season 4 will premiere on Netflix sometime in June.
