"LawBreakers," the PC game made by "Gears of War" creator Cliff Bleszinski, formerly known as Project Bluestreak, is not free-to-play any longer, but it will not have a full price of $60. Furthermore, the game will be a timed exclusive for Steam.

According to Bleszinski, Boss Key realized that the free-to-play concept was not suited for what they are developing. Boss Key is the studio he founded after leaving Epic, the studio behind "Gears of War."

Furthermore, Bleszinski is determined not to implement a Pay-to-Win feature. He wants players to enjoy and like the game rather than spend money to defeat other players who will pay for premium items in it.

The studio has done its research, according to Polygon, about having a free-to-play feature in a game. The founder reported that a lot of experienced gamers have a negative reaction when it comes to the free-to-play feature because they think they are being scammed or "ripped off."

Bleszinski also adds that since it is a competitive game, the focus for the development team should be the balance, according to Engadget. The premium price will let everyone access all features and creates a balanced playing field.

Compared to "LawBreakers" last showing, it now has a new look, VG247 reported. The former "Gears of War" creator showed the GDC attendees new features like a new logo and game modes.

Bleszinski specified that "LawBreakers" should be able to come atop from its big competitors. This is the reason why the Boss Key team wants the game's mature features and gravity-based gameplay to be in the spotlight.

"LawBreakers" unique gameplay includes different gravity effects, reverse blind-firing, unique roll-based movement systems, jetpacks and many more. The three-dimensional combat has been realized with the use of grappling blades.

Meanwhile, the game will only be on the Steam platform for now but the creator has divulged that it could come to consoles if the studio will find a good partner for porting it. The game still has no dated launch and gamers can now add it to their wishlist. On April, it will be shown at the PAX East event. Closed testing sessions will be available before the game launches.
