Katty Perry revealed few details about her upcoming Super Bowl XLIX performance.

In her interview with the press people at the Phoenix Convention Center, Perry said that she will showcase her "strengths, which are humor and incredible joy." The "Roar" singer added that she just wants the audience who will be composed of over a 100 million people to smile by the end of the event, Stuff reported.

Perry was asked if she would perform by lip-synching with pre-recorded vocals. The singer gave a safe answer and said that most of the performance will be sung live.

The pop star previously said that Lenny Kravitz will appear in the performance but there is another "special guest" that will join her in the number. Perry said that she would like to keep it as a surprise, Yahoo Music reported.

Bringing the guest into the performance was not an easy process. She wanted to have a "throwback of sorts" and the guest star will assist her in making an "old-school, fun female" evening. Perry is confident that the audience will be amazed once they hear the first tune.

In preparation for her Super Bowl performance, Perry admitted that she watched the previous shows that featured artists such as Madonna, Michael Jackson, Diana Ross and Beyonce. Perry called Bruno Mars who performed in the Super Bowl last year and asked him when she should get a "spray tan" but Mars failed to answer.

As for the theme, fans should expect a "wild" performance since Perry said she will have an animalistic concept. The pop star joked that she will bring "lions and sharks" into the Super Bowl. Jeremy Scott will design all her costumes.

Since it is a football game, Perry will be rooting for her good friend Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson.  She added that she will be cheering for the Seahawks because her friend also supported her on all her concerts.

Fans can finally watch Perry's performance and of course the awaited football game as Super Bowl opens this Sunday.
