Update: The promo shows the struggle of Jace being Valentine's son. Clary asks Simon if Valentine raised Jace to be evil. Jace says that he is his father but Clary tells him that he is not like him.
Towards the end, Valentine says that he has a lot to teach Jace.

"Shadowhunters" Season 1, episode 13 finale - synopsis
"In the Season 1 finale, Jace is determined to hunt down Valentine, despite his conflicted feelings; and Clary and Simon work together to discover the key to unlocking Jocelyn's coma, but breaking the spell could have disastrous consequences. Meanwhile, Alec faces the repercussions of his decision," reads the synopsis via TV Guide.
Talking about Alec, Matthew Daddario talks about "Shadowhunters" Season 1, episode 12 titled "Malec."
He tells TVLine that people are speculating a lot. He warns fans that they should be careful with their "hopes and dreams because, very quickly, everything you love and want can shatter."
The actor guarantees that things will be emotional. Daddario talks about the portrayal of Malec couple.
"Whenever you have something that matters to a large number of people, especially when it's on a very personal level, you have to make sure your interpretation of it matches at least certain parts of theirs. It's not about you. You have to do something to honor these characters and their relationship. We were very focused on keeping things honest and making it seem real. The struggle is real, their feelings are real. We worked with the writers constantly to make sure everything went smoothly."
It will be interesting to see how things open up for Magnus and Alec in the finale of "Shadowhunters" Season 1.
