Champions League hopeful teams Bayer 04 Leverkusen (12-9-6, 42 points) and VfL Wolfsburg (10-9-8, 38 points) are scheduled to meet in a 2015-2016 Bundesliga season contest at the BayArena on Friday, April 1st.

Bayer is currently on a two-game winning streak and settling in the sixth spot of the league table, only two points behind fourth-running FC Schalke 04, who is temporarily holding the fourth and last UEFA Champions League berth for next season's premier continental competitions.

If Roger Schmidt's boys could pull off a victory against Wolfsburg and Schalke drops their game against Ingolstadt on Saturday, then Bayer will overtake Die Knappen for fourth place.

The Leverkusen residents are coming off a 2-0 blanking of middling club VfB Stuttgart at the Mercedes-Benz Arena on March 20th to pull off their second consecutive win and third straight unbeaten game, as per Four Four Two.

Teenage winger Julian Brandt opened the scoring at the 11th minute of the match and then followed-up by a goal from midfielder Karim Bellarabi four minutes into the second half to complete Bayer's two-goal performance against Die Schwaben.

Meanwhile, Wolfsburg settled to a 1-1 draw with newly-promoted side SV Darmstadt 98 at the Volkswagen Arena on March 19th, as reported by ESPN.

The two teams went scoreless for much of the game until Die Lilien forward Sandro Wagner broke the deadlock eight minutes before the full time whistle with a left-footed shot from the center box off an assist by midfielder Marcel Heller.

Die Wölfe was able to equalize the count during stoppage time when forward Andre Schurrle also made a left-footed strike from outside the box from a cross by striker Max Kruse.

The tie gave the two squads a point in the overall standings, which is a crucial one for both sides as Dieter Hecking's team drew closer to a chance at a Champions League berth while Darmstadt was able to avoid the bottom three relegation zone, climbing one point above it.

The predicted result is a 2-0 win for Bayer Leverkusen.
