The Dallas Cowboys could use their fourth overall pick for a defensive end, according to the latest 2016 NFL mock draft.

The Cowboys head into draft night on Apr. 28-30 in Chicago with a chance to pick one of the best players in this year's class of rookies. It would be Dallas' highest position in any of the draft events since selecting Troy Aikman with the first pick in 1989.

According to the latest mock draft by CBS Sports NFL writer Jared Dublin, the Cowboys are projected to use the No. 4 pick on UCLA linebacker Myles Jack. Dublin noted that adding Jack would give the Cowboys an "athletic and versatile group of linebackers," along with Sean Lee and Rolando McClain.

"It helps that he can be on the field for all three downs and even work in the slot on occasion. Given the Cowboys' weaknesses at safeties, having good coverage linebackers is important," Dublin added.

Another CBS Sports NFL analyst Will Bronson has Dallas going for Jack, with the Tennessee Titans getting offensive tackle Laremy TunsIl for the No. 1 pick, Cleveland Browns picking quarterback Carson Wentz and San Diego Chargers opting for cornerback Jalen Ramsey.

"Considered by many to be the best player in the draft, the Cowboys take the top player on their board to add to a defense badly in need of pass-rush help," Bronson said of Jack.

But Mickey Spagnola, a columnist for the Cowboys' official website, is banking on the possibility of Dallas picking Ramsey if the Florida State product would still be available at that point. The 21-year-old Ramsey took part in this week's Pro Day workout at Florida State, where he impressed the club's scouts and media with his skills and speed.

The only caveat for the Cowboys drafting Ramsey is if the versatile CB would still be available as a fourth pick, with pundits expecting him to be third overall.

But according to The Tennessean, the Titans may pick Ramsey as the 2016 No. 1 overall pick, although statistics show that no team since the NFL-AFL merger in 1970 has ever selected a defensive back as the top player in a draft class.

"Today I took it as another opportunity to show I'm the best defensive back and player in this year's draft," Ramsey said.
