"Heartbeat" season 1, episode 4 will see Alex Pantierre (Melissa George) choosing between Pierce Harrison (Dave Annable) and Jessie Shane (Don Hany).
In the previous episodes, it was revealed that Alex was formerly married to a man who later on confessed to being gay. After their divorce, Alex was drawn to the very smart Dr. Shane.
However, just when she was already starting to fall head over heels for him, Dr. Shane left the hospital to pursue other things. At this time, Alex met Dr. Pierce, and the two of them fell in love.
Last week, Dr. Pierce confronted Alex about the latter's real feelings for him. After all, he's been asking him to take their relationship to the next level, but Alex would always stall the idea.
In the teaser released by NBC for "100,000 Heartbeats," Alex will ask Shane why exactly he decided to return to St. Matthews Hospital. The one of a kind surgeon will also tell Shane that she's already in a relationship with Pierce at the moment.
"Why did you come back? I'm with Pierce. So you and I we're gonna work together..." Alex told Shane.
"You need to get over me," Shane told Alex obviously still knowing that the latter has feelings for him.
The next scene in the teaser showed Pierce telling Alex that she needs to make a choice between him and Shane.
"So what am I supposed to choose?" she asked them.
"Oh, God..." she added.
Meanwhile, "100,00 Heartbeats" will also see Alex gaining even more popularity on social media after successful operating on one of her patients.
The clip showed the other doctors and nurses at the hospital congratulating her for a job well done.
"You're trending..." one of the male nurses told her.
"Hey, you're exploding on Instagram," a female doctor told her.
"Oh, I went viral," Alex couldn't believe herself.
The next scene showed her talking to an elderly woman who didn't seem very happy for her success.
"You're a real maverick aren't you Dr. Pantierre? I hate mavericks," the elderly woman said.
"Heartbeat" season 1, episode 4 will air on NBC on April 6 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
