World No. 1 Novak Djokovic is on track to chase Roger Federer's all-time Grand Slam record after the Serb showed yet another masterful performance in the recently concluded Miami Open at Key Biscayne, Florida.

Djokovic made another historical run at the Miami Open after recording his 28th Masters 1000 title and becoming and surpassing career rival Federer in the race to become the sport's first $100 million man.

But it does not seem those are the only records Djokovic is capable of breaking, with the Belgrade native poised to eclipse Federer's all-time Grand Slam record of 17 titles following the most recent testament of Nole's tennis domination.

"All this means that Djokovic is building a great case as a potential challenger to Federer as the all-time Grand Slam champion," ESPN tennis analyst Peter Bodo wrote.

"With 17 majors, the 34-year-old Federer remains six up on Djokovic, who won't turn 29 until mid-May."

Djokovic finished the Miami Open tournament with an outstanding match record of 28 wins and one loss. His lone mark in the loss column came in Dubai after retiring hurt due to an eye problem.

But aside from that unfortunate event, Djokovic has made it to the finals in all of the tournaments he joined this season and the Serb has no plans of slowing down heading into the clay-season and Roland Garros, the second Grand Slam event of the year,

"I'm very thrilled about it. Hopefully I can make many more records," Djokovic said, reports Tennis World USA.

"This year the start of the season has been probably even better than 2015 in terms of results, in terms of how I feel. I don't feel too exhausted. I don't think that I will have any difficulty to make transition to the clay courts quickly and swiftly enough."

Djokovic's next tournament will be at the Monte Carlo Masters on Apr. 10-17, signaling the start of the 28-year-old's campaign in the clay-season. Djokovic will defend his Monte Carlo Masters title against the likes of Federer and Rafael Nadal, who will both return to tennis action after withdrawing from the Miami Open due to certain illnesses.
