Ben Affleck and Matt Damon did put a gay scene in the original script of the 1997 film "Good Will Hunting," former Miramax Films boss Harvey Weinstein has revealed.

In a recent guest appearance on "The Graham Norton Show," Weinstein every studio wanted the film about a gifted janitor working at Massachusetts Institute of Technology at the time and every studio wanted Affleck and Damon to be in it.

Affleck and Damon decided to have "Good Will Hunting" be distributed by Miramax Films, which was then run by Weinstein.

According to Weinstein, Affleck and Damon at the time "were young kids, just really starting out, but they had some good roles behind them."

Weinstein said he read the script before meeting the two actors in his office, and then about 10 minutes into the meeting, he asked them about one thing on the script.

"I just have one really big note. About page 60, the two professors give each other oral sex and they're on their knees and this whole big sex scene. What the hell is that? Because the guys are straight, and there's no hint of anything like that," Weinstein recalled. " I don't get that scene.'"

Affleck and Damon then explained to Weinstein that the gay sex scene was the scene that they wrote to find out whether executives like him actually read the script because no one among the studio executives they approached brought that scene up.

Directed by Gus Van Sant, "Good Will Hunting" also starred Minnie Driver, Casey Affleck. Stellan Skarsgard and the late Robin Williams, among others.
