South Korean singers, Hwang Chi Yeol and Gummy, are joining forces for a duet at the final round of "I Am A Singer" Season 4 in China. It has been reported that the duo will perform one of "Descendants of the Sun's" OST.
It has been reported that Hwang is the only foreign singer who advanced to the final round in the said Chinese singing competition. Hwang won first place in the previous three rounds in the competition, which secured him a spot in this week's live season finale.
Thus, the 33-year-old singer will be teaming up with vocalist Gummy for their first-ever live performance together to sing a duet version of Gummy's "You Are My Everything." It is a ballad song which grew largely popular in China as an OST of KBS 2's hit on-going drama series.
As of recently, Hwang expressed his sentiments over the matter. According to the finalist, he is excited and happy to be included in the final round of "I Am a Singer" show.
"I am really nervous. 'Descendants of the Sun' is very popular in China, but I've tried hard to do justice to the show's soundtrack," NavenTV quoted Hwang as saying.
Being one of the broadly recognized Korean singers in China, a great number of local music fans were showing a huge anticipation for his duet with Gummy. Much to the delight of the fans, Hwang revealed that he and Gummy is seemingly a good fit, adding that they have a good musical synergy.
The highly anticipated performance will also be a treat for fans of "Descendants of the Sun" soundtrack and Gummy, as the vocalist rarely had the chance to perform the song live. C-JeS Entertainment previously revealed that R&B queen Gummy's "You Are My Everything" is sweeping iTunes K-pop charts in eight different countries.
The said countries include Canada, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, Australia and Indonesia. It is also being featured on the top 10 list for both the United States and Vietnam, Koogle TV has learned.
