"The Fosters" was recently renewed by Freeform for a fourth season.
According to TV Line, the Teri Polo-starrer was renewed as early as November 2015.
At that time, the show as only halfway through its third season, but the network was already certain that it will continue to do well in terms of ratings.
Fans of the hit TV series couldn't help but express their excitement over the news.
But some are also speculating on the possibility that Callie (Maia Mitchell) is pregnant with Brandon's (David Lambert) child.
Following the finale episode for season 3 wherein Stef and Lena found out that Callie and Brandon had sex, fans believe that there's more to the story than just that.
One fan @Alexis said that she hopes Callie is actually pregnant with Brandon's child.
"Me too I hope she is pregnant by Brandon. I mean I don't think you can stay with a family when you slept with one of them and if they take her away they could still find a way to be together. They've been through so much together they deserve each other," she wrote.
Another fan @Anna didn't think that a pregnancy storyline is such a good idea.
"God, I hope not. They would be officially jumping the shark. Like what would they do with that pregnancy? Callie and Brandon who are not only teenagers but now legally brother and sister, would raise the kid (without high school diplomas) as his/her own cousin?" she wrote.
In other news, there are some rumors that "The Fosters" season 4 could be the last for the hit Freeform series.
Some fans have noted how the storylines for season 3 have deteriorated. Some also claimed that the storylines have become repetitive and predictable.
On the contrary, there are also some fans who want the show to go on for as long as possible.
One fan @Lisa wrote, "So happy for this brave and important show. I hope it stays on for years. It deserves it."
Another fan @robandco is also happy about the season 4 renewal.
"The Fosters" season 4 will premiere on Freefrom sometime this June.
