Sevilla suffered a third straight defeat in their current campaign as they lost to reeling squad Valencia, 2-1, at the Mestalla Stadium last Sunday, as per Soccerway.

Los Che midfielder Daniel Parejo scored the opening goal in the contest at the 41st minute to give the hosts the upperhand before the halftime break.

Los Rojiblancos striker Kevin Gameiro managed to net an equalizer late in the match at the 86th minute, but Valencia vice-captain Alvaro Negredo scored the winner in stoppage time to halt his team's own four-game losing skid and stay nine points away from the bottom three relegation zone.

With the loss, the Sevillistas dropped to seventh place in the league table as they let Athletic Bilbao overtake them to the sixth spot after Los Leones won their game against Rayo Vallecano in the same matchday.

Meanwhile, Deportivo La Coruna is drifting in the 12th spot of the league table having gone winless in five of their last six matches.

Their most recent game was a 1-3 beating in the hands of fellow middling squad Las Palmas at their own home field of Estadio Municipal de Riazor on Monday, as reported by ESPN.

The hosts actually scored the opening goal with a 47th minute shot from midfielder Lucas Perez from the center box off an assist by defender Fernando Navarro. However, it was all manager Víctor Sánchez's boys could produce it the match as the visitors scored the next three goals on the way to their lopsided loss.

Los Amarillos forward Sergio Araujo netted a double at the 58th and 90th+3 while team captain David Garcia contributed one at the 79th to hand Deportivo surprisingly only their ninth loss of the season.

The predicted result is close 2-1 bounce back win for Sevilla.
